    Chances are good!

    There are some steps you must take in order to make sure that you’re putting your best foot forward, and that you’re looking as professional as you possibly can.

    First, register your script through the Writers Guild of America. Registration is good for five years. You can do this here:

    Next, get a copy of the Hollywood Creative Directory and compile a list of agents and managers that represent the genre that your screenplay is written in.

    Now, build a query letter and send it to the agents and managers on your list.

    Interview the ones that respond to your letter, and find the one that is the best ‘fit’ for you. Remember that this person will work for YOU, not vice-versa.

    Let that person loose in Hollywood with your script.
